Just wanted to take some time and create a webpage for my Christmas broadcast for the end of 2012 and wish you and yours the best of the season and a good start to the New Year. 

Things are fine in Zürich at the moment : we have had a change in administration at the Opera House, which has been the source of much fear and dread for the last year or so, but things seem to be developing nicely under the new Intendant. Hard to believe this is my 15th season with Opernhaus Zürich !!

Fausto moved to Zürich in January to start learning German. He started to look for work in September while continuing his studies (  he has just finished his B1 German course :  yes, he speaks better than I do now ) and we hope he will be able to find a position sometime soon. 

My parents are doing well back in Fairfax : as my mom says, growing old is not for sissies. but they are handling the health issues that come up well and are in good shape at the moment. 

I will visit my parents in the Washington DC area for two weeks in February : after that, I plan to be in the USA for 2-3 weeks in the summer close to the end of our opera season in July. Our trio will ( Tenors First ) will sing on the German cruise ship MS Deutschland again in August, this time mostly in Sweden with a stop in Murmansk ( I only hope that the Russian Embassy in Bern gives me the correct visa this time : they gave me the wrong visa in 2009 when I went to St Petersburg, and I was not allowed off the boat the second day there ! )  ...  The opera season will resume around Sept 9 2013 ...
